Spices mostly come from developing countries. Since spices are usually not washed or peeled, high pesticide residues can occur, especially in conventional products. To avoid harmful pesticides in our food, it is worth switching to organic spices. Pesticides are prohibited in organic farming.

According to Ökotest, up to 15 different pesticides can be found in a conventional product. Paprika powder, oregano and curry – these are the spices that the consumer magazine ÖKO-TEST focused on in a food study (issue no. 10, October 2011).
