The demand for sustainable clothing is growing and more and more people are aware of the immense negative impact this sector has.
In the sustainable clothing industry, fewer pesticides, herbicides or other harmful substances are used in the production of the fibres than in the conventional textile industry – this is not only good for the environment, but also for the health of the workers and your skin!

Our listed online shops mainly use organic cotton and other materials for the production of sustainable fashion e.g. TENCEL™ Lyocell & are awarded with reputable sustainability seals e.g. GOTS or the Fairtrade seal. According to the non-profit organisation Textile Exchange, organic cotton is 91% more water efficient than conventional cotton. In comparison – fibres such as TENCEL™ Lyocell, however, need less water.

Important: Different eco-labels mean different standards. For example, GOTS only has to contain at least 70% organically controlled fibres, meaning the remaining 30% may not be organic. A GOTS-Organic label comes with 95% organic cotton.

Eco-seals are helpful indicators to start with, but are not a free pass for thoughtless consumption.
